David Ryan, the proprietor of this website, moved to New Mexico at the end of 1998 after hiking the 2180-mile long Appalachian Trail. His time in New Mexico has been spent wandering and exploring every corner of the state. In addition to wandering, he is the author of Wandering in the Clear Light of New Mexico; the coauthor of the 3rd edition of 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Albuquerque; and the author of The Gentle Art of Wandering and other walking related books.
