After a 3 ½ year delay because of Covid, David Ryan – the coauthor of the 3rd edition of 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Albuquerque – will be speaking to us about the amazing places to discover right in our own backyard. He has just completed a new book called Wandering in the Clear Light of New Mexico. The new book is an extension of the “60 Hikes” book to include those places that make New Mexico special. These are places that you can only find in New Mexico and are compelling enough or important enough to warrant a trip across the country to check out. As an example, the United States has only 25 UNESCO-Designated World Heritage Sites. New Mexico has three of them (Carlsbad Caverns, Chaco Canyon, Taos Pueblo) – more than other state! His talk on March 2nd will combine material from both books.
