The Bureau of Land Management has built a new parking area for Cabezon on the main road and has gated the old road to the trailhead. When I was last in the area back in November, the parking area was still under construction. You can still hike at Cabezon but will have to walk an extra very flat mile each way. The good news is that you no longer have to worry about getting stuck on the very bumpy access road.
