The dogs and I finally had a chance to check out the combination lock at the San Ysidro Trials Area. And the lock worked like a champ. Just make sure you contact the BLM office (505-761-8700) for the current combination. The place is awesome for exploring:

I just learned that you no longer need to go to the BLM office to pick up a key. There is now a combination lock. Just call the BLM office at 505-761-8700 for the current access code.
