5 Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument

February 1, 2025

As you may know by now, Tent Rocks has finally reopened.

Visitation is limited and reservations in advance are are required – https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/facility/10065448

Once you have your reservation, you will need to obtain a travel pass from Cochiti Pueblo –

https://www.purplepass.com/events/301019-cochiti-pueblo-tribal-access-pass-nov-30th-2024

Scroll to the bottom of the page to purchase a pass for your reservation date.

The fee for a reservation is $5.00 per person. (It’s free with an America the Beautiful pass.) The Cochiti Travel pass is $20 per person. Although the cost of visitation may eliminate a spontaneous trip, Tent Rocks is still fantastic. I went to Tent Rocks in December and the experience was wonderful. The trail was not crowded and there was no waiting for parking. Prior to Covid, the large crowds at Tent Rocks were getting out of hand and Cochiti Pueblo was tired of traffic backing up into their community. Hopefully, this new arrangement will keep the crowds down and put some money into Cochiti’s pocket.
