While hiking in Armijo-Cienega Spring (Hike 14) area this past weekend I noticed that the updated Trailhead Map had an “unofficial” trail (circled in Blue) connecting the Cienega Canyon parking area with the Armijo Trail. I had never noticed that trail before and checked it out two days later.
And sure enough, I found the Trail leading away from the picnic tables.
Except for a couple of steep spots, the Trail is quite walkable. Here is the Elevation Profile I recorded with my GPS.
The Armijo Trail (south end of the trail) is to the left and the Cienega Canyon parking area (north end of the trail) is to the right.
The Connector Trail is something to check out the next time you go on Hike 14.

A major portion of Hike 14 is on the Faulty Trail. I wrote a blog post today about looking for medallions on the Faulty Trail. Here’s the link if you’re interested: https://www.gentleartofwandering.com/looking-for-medallion-trees-on-the-faulty-trail/
